Proposal for Helena’s Cleaners

Since 1984, a story worth watching.

Three generations of one family. Let’s put it on camera.

What’s already working

You’ve been consistent, and it shows.

Most small businesses never build a content habit. You did. You’ve kept a steady presence on Instagram and Facebook, and you worked out how to produce video with AI and keep it going.

That takes a system, and it’s the hardest part. I’m not proposing you stop any of it. I’m proposing we add something to it.

The gap

Consistency gets you posted. Connection gets you watched.

Here’s what I see on Instagram. The effort is there, and the numbers on the videos haven’t followed.

The video content is clearly AI-produced, and in my experience audiences are engaging less and less with that kind of content. There’s no face, no voice and no person to connect with. That’s the part a camera and a few real conversations can fix.

The opportunity

You already have the story.

Helena’s has been your local cleaners since 1984. It’s a third-generation, family-owned business. Your own history page already carries photos from the early days.

A business that has lasted this long has people, places and moments worth showing. It just takes time, a team and someone with a camera to go capture them.

joyhousecreative.org

What story-driven content does.

Four jobs, and your current content isn’t built to do them yet.

  • Awareness

Scroll-stopping, sendable, highly relatable pieces designed to draw attention.

  • Trust

When customers meet the people handling their clothes, they trust you with more of them.

  • Connection

Real faces, real places and real neighbors, so the community feels part of Helena’s story.

  • Conversion

Invites the viewer into your service.

Keep

What you post now.

Garment care tips, pick-up and delivery, seasonal reminders. They help customers, so they stay.

Add

The personal connection.

Stories, people and places that give customers a reason to know who is behind Helena’s.

Why a series

A series makes people come back for more.

A single video gets watched once and scrolled past. A mini series gives people a reason to return for the next one.

Right now, building a mini series around one story is one of the most effective ways I know to lift engagement. Each episode sets up the next, so viewers follow along, follow the page and watch for what’s coming.

  • Episode 1People find the story.
  • Episode 2They come back to see what happens next.
  • Episode 3They stay, follow and start to feel part of it.

The idea

The founding story, in three short episodes.

Each episode runs 90 to 120 seconds. Together they tell the story from the beginning to today.

  1. 1984

    How it began

Why Helena’s started, who started it, and what the first days looked like.

    90 to 120 seconds

  2. Three generations

    What got passed down

The family, the people who joined along the way, and what has changed and what hasn’t.

    90 to 120 seconds

  3. Today

    The people behind the counter

The team and the care that go into your customers’ clothes now.

    90 to 120 seconds

These are working titles. I’d shape the real story with you on the strategy call and confirm every detail before we film.

joyhousecreative.org

Then keep going

Monthly content, built on real people.

The founding story is where I’d start. After that, I’d keep telling stories that show who Helena’s is.

  • The people

Meet the team that handles your customers’ clothes every day.

  • The places

Show the locations, the counter, the work behind the scenes and pick-up and delivery.

  • The community

Highlight customers and neighbors, and build real connection to the community you serve.

  • The craft

Show what care looks like, from plant-based dry cleaning to alterations, with the people who do it.

Legacy Laundry · a month-by-month library of people, places and how-tos

You’re already a successful business, so these stories exist. I’d come in, capture them, and give you a library of short clips your team can use on every platform.
